Trazodone and prolonged erections

lebowski

I read Dr. Goldstein’s article about trazodone and erectile dysfunction and it was very helpful. I have a question, hoping to get some feedback
I am 42 years old, undergoing testosterone replacement therapy and recently taking a low dose of Pristiq (Effexor). I’ve had some mild ED in the last year which started since I had quit taking another medication, Paxil. I have read that some men experience ED when they stop taking SSRIs and it did seem to make a difference for me. The Effexor seemed to help.

I also have had insomnia problems for some time and my doctor suggested I try trazodone. I have only used a low dose for a few days now, 25 or 50mg. It has helped with the sleep and I also seem to experience long lasting erections. The erections are not painful and will go away after I wake up.
This doesn’t appear to be true Priapism but I am worried that the long lasting erections in the night may be somewhat harmful? I’m wondering if this will be unhealthy due to lack of blood flow.

Thanks
