Impotent and viagra doesn’t work anymore

Joe

I’m almost eighty. I became impotent at age 65, possibly because of many years of smoking (inhaling a pipe). But soon after, Viagra was invented and this gave us another 13 years. Then the strongest Viagra pill stopped working, kind of abruptly. I tried larger doses of viagra, taking a risk I guess, but this did not work either. Unfortunately I don’t respond to oral sex, so this avenue was also cut off.

I should mention that I’ve been married to my wife for 28 extremely happy years. We are now exploring injectIons, Tri-mix at the moment. These do give me an erection but it’s hard for me to have an orgasm this way. This erection seems quite different (less insistent and “pushy”) than a viagra erection. But even withoiut an orgasm it’s better than nothing, and I suspect we’ll get it down one of these times.

The reason my wife and I want sex at my advanced age (she’s 65) is to counteract the new stresses a marriage runs into in old age. The winding down of the body, not to mention new psychological stresses, is hard on a love relationship. You have to work harder. And we believe that if we can have sex of any kind we will be counteracting these stresses and enhancing an important aspect of our love. Hope springs eternal!
