International Society for Sexual Medicine: The primary purposes of the International Society for Sexual Medicine are to: (1) encourage the highest standards of practice, education and research in the field of human sexuality; (2) develop scientific methods for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of conditions affecting human sexual function; and (3) promote the publication of medical and scientific literature in the field of sexual function.
The Journal of Sexual Medicine: The Journal of Sexual Medicine publishes multidisciplinary basic science and clinical research to define and understand the scientific basis of male and female sexual function and dysfunction. As the official journal of the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health, it provides healthcare professionals in sexual medicine with essential educational content and promotes the exchange of scientific information generated from experimental and clinical research. The Journal of Sexual Medicine includes basic science and clinical research studies in the psychologic and biologic aspects of male and female sexual function and dysfunction, and highlights new observations and research, results with innovative treatments and all other topics relevant to clinical sexual medicine.
Sexual Medicine Society of North American: The Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Inc. (SMS) strives to promote, encourage, and support the highest standards of practice, research, education, and ethics in the study of the anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of human sexual function and dysfunction and provide a forum for the free exchange and discussion of new ideas, thoughts, and concepts in this field. The SMS seeks to identify existing and emerging issues in the field of human sexual function and dysfunction, provide accurate and credible information to medical professionals, develop standards and guidelines for Sexual Medicine research and practice, and produce educational program that bring leading-edge concepts of research, clinical practice, ethics, and politics to health care professionals interested in Sexual Medicine and related matters.
International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health: The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health is an international, multidisciplinary, academic, clinical and scientific organization whose purposes are: (1) to provide opportunities for communication among scholars, researchers and practitioners about women's sexual health, (2) to support the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in research, education and clinical practice of women’s sexual health, and (3) to provide the public with accurate information about female women’s sexual health.
American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists: The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary professional organization. In addition to sexuality educators, sexuality counselors and sex therapists, AASECT members include physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, allied health professionals, clergy members, lawyers, sociologists, marriage and family counselors and therapists, family planning specialists and researchers, as well as students in relevant professional disciplines. These individuals share an interest in promoting understanding of human sexuality and healthy sexual behavior.
SexHealthMatters.org: SexHealthMatters.org has been created to educate patients in the matters of sexual dysfunction. Sexual dysfunction is very common, with over 50% of men experiencing some form of it in their lifetime.
World Association for Sexual Health: Since 1978 WAS has been the pre-eminent global organization concerned with sexual health and rights. WAS has facilitated sexual health through education, health promotion and networking for three decades. In recent years, the WAS constituency has become involved in advocating for changes in public policy to recognize sexual health and rights as key ingredients in overall health and social justice. Financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and governments has sustained this work around the world. WAS works to promote sexual health for all.
The National Vulvodynia Association: NVA is an educational, nonprofit organization founded to disseminate information on vulvodynia. It was created in 1994 to improve the lives of individuals affected by vulvodynia, a spectrum of chronic vulvar pain disorders.
